Start: 9:00 AM. 26 miles & about 1,000 feet of climbing. Download the Quarter-Century Cue Sheet .
Leaving from the Valencia Town Center, the Quater-Century route will initially follow the same path as both the Half-Century and Century routes.
Riders will cruise along wide and open Soledad Canyon Road, until reaching Canyon Country. One mile past Sierra Highway, riders will face the steepest ascent of the route, a short 100-yard hill about 5-6%. On top of this climb, riders continue just down the road to Sand Canyon Road, turning right and flying downhill past Route 14 into one of Santa Clarita’s many equestrian areas.
A gentle slope greets cyclists for the next 3-miles, easily passing picturesque ranches and farms and Robinson Ranch Golf Club. After this lovely, tree-lined ascent, riders will reach the half-way point: Fire Station #123 and some much needed fuel and refreshment.
After resting, riders will return back down Sand Canyon Road, enjoying the wind in their hair as they fly along without pedaling. A left onto Soledad Canyon Road, and a short while later, another left onto Lost Canyon Road and entrance onto Santa Clarita’s beautiful river trail. Riders stay on the trail all the way back to the Finish line, for a grand total of 26, well-earned miles!
